Our History
Our story begins on the 24th of January 2000, when a determined lady named Jean Smith, who had a passion for property sales and investments, and a love for the people of Kuils River, founded Kuils River Estates. At the time Jean was not aware of it, but she was taking the first few steps in a 20 year journey that would, through the success of the Kuils River Estates brand, shape the property market of Kuils River for years to come.
In 2004 the agency moved to a bigger premises on Kuils River’s main road and soon had to rent the adjacent office space to accommodate its expansion. 2005 saw Jean identifying and purchasing a property located on the corner of Klein Street and Langverwacht Road to house the expanding agency. The new home of Kuils River Estates become a landmark of the area and is known as the “blue building”, due to the blue hue created by floodlights shining against the white exterior walls.
Over the next 15 years, and under the vision of Jean, Kuils River Estates cemented itself as one of the leading real estate agencies in the area.
In 2021, Jean Smith unexpectedly and tragically passed away. A people’s person, Jean left an indelible impression on the hearts of the community members of Kuils River. As our team’s leader, she imparted to us ideals to which we hold ourselves accountable as property professionals. These ideals can best be summarised as follows: the quality of service provided to clients; vision for the agency; generosity for the people of Kuils River; and the unwavering ethics that guide us.
